What LinuxTools.app is and why it exists.

// what is this

LinuxTools.app is a free, browser-based collection of tools for developers, sysadmins, and DevOps engineers. Everything from chmod calculators and cron expression generators to subnet calculators, JWT decoders, Dockerfile generators, and more.

Most tools run entirely in your browser — what you type into the chmod calculator, JWT decoder, or config generators never leaves your machine. The network tools (NetOps, My IP, latency checks) are the exception: lookups need a server, so the hostname or IP you enter is sent to our API. See the privacy policy for details.

// why it was built

Working in DevOps and infrastructure, you constantly reach for the same small utilities — permission calculators, cron validators, subnet tools. Most require searching through Stack Overflow answers, man pages, or scattered online tools full of ads and paywalls.

LinuxTools.app puts them all in one clean, fast place. No account required, no paywalls — the site is kept free by a small number of ads.
