LinuxTools.app is committed to your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use this site and how it is used.

The short version: almost every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser, and your input is never sent to any server operated by LinuxTools.app. The one exception is the network tools (the NetOps page and My IP), which send your query to the LinuxTools.app API — see network tools API below.

// data we do not collect

LinuxTools.app does not collect:

• ›Personal information (name, email, account details)
• ›Input data entered into browser-based tools (every tool except the network tools API described below)
• ›Device fingerprints or cross-site tracking identifiers (by LinuxTools.app servers)
• ›Browsing history or session recordings

// google adsense & cookies

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other sites on the internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

// analytics

This site may use anonymous, aggregate analytics to understand general traffic patterns (e.g. which tools are most popular). No personally identifiable information is collected as part of this process.

// network tools api (linuxtools.app/api)

Lookups such as ping, traceroute, DNS, WHOIS, GeoIP, ASN, nmap, HTTP headers, and My IP can't run inside a browser, so these tools send your request to an API operated by LinuxTools.app at linuxtools.app/api. When you use them:

• ›The hostname, domain, IP address, or URL you enter is sent to the API so the lookup can run.
• ›The API receives your IP address, as any web server does. My IP uses it to show you your public IP and approximate location (from a local GeoLite2 database).
• ›Standard server logs may record your IP address and the request, including what you looked up. Your IP is also used temporarily for rate limiting to prevent abuse.

This data is used only to run the lookup, operate the service, and prevent abuse. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you. If you don't want a query to reach the API, don't enter it into the network tools.

// third-party services (network tools)

Certain tools on this site make requests to third-party APIs directly from your browser to provide functionality. These requests are made client-side and do not pass through LinuxTools.app servers. The third-party services used include:

• ›ipapi.co — used on the NetOps page to display your public IP address, approximate location, and ISP. Your IP address is sent directly to ipapi.co by your browser.
• ›Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS (cloudflare-dns.com) — used for DNS lookups in the Network Tools page.

LinuxTools.app does not store, log, or have access to the data exchanged between your browser and these services. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for information on how they handle your data.

This site contains links to external websites (such as GitHub). LinuxTools.app is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourages you to review their privacy policies.

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
